British Embassy in Warsaw and the British Council, in partnership with Big Book Cafe MDM (‘Kultura nie boli Foundation’) are piloting a new series of events under the title of ‘Youth Connects’ to provide opportunities for the younger generation to discuss global issues. On February 22, we invited REEMA SELHI, Head of Policy and International, Design and Artists Copyright Society from the UK and ARKADIUSZ RATAJ, a Polish digital artist creating with AI, focused on the synthesis of art and science. The meeting was hosted by SYLWIA CZUBKOWSKA. How AI learns and takes from humans? How creative can it be? Will it someday create unique art that transcends human achievement? And if it does, will artists stay relevant, admired and valued? What are the challenges and possible conflicts ahead for creators and the machines? Will AI tools be free and accessible for everyone to enhance their talents or will they work for the profit of an elite who can program and afford it? And how AI redefines the very notion of art and talent? Reema Selhi Head of Policy and International at Design and Artists Copyright Society, Board Member at a-n The Artists Information Company, Vice Chair at Alliance for Intellectual Property. Bachelor of Arts at UCL, graduate of Central St Martins Collage of Art and Design and BPP Law School. Arkadiusz Rataj Artist and interactive content creator. The scope of his artistic explorations includes painting, graphics, installations, as well as music, all of which have modern technology as their common denominator.
