# 204 The life and Legacy of Hakham Jose Faur with Aaron Haleva (in English)

In this episode through a first hand testimony of one of his devoted students we learn about the life and the intelectual legacy of one of the giants of the XX century "Old Sephardic" exponents. Hakham Jose Faur was born in Argentina and learned the old ways of Torah with great damasquines sages in Buenos Aires. Holding a PhD from Salamanca, being for decades a Talmud teacher at the JTS, author of dozens of books and hundreds of articles in English, Spanish and Hebrew, Hakham Faur, mostly unknown today was one of the most prominent voices of now an almost lost Sephardic tradition that he wanted to revive and preserve.
