Bryan Stevenson is an award-winning lawyer, speaker, as well as the founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization based in Montgomery, Alabama, that is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in our society. EJI has helped to provide justice for over 125 wrongfully condemned death row prisoners. He is the author of the powerful bestselling book Just Mercy and his latest project is the Memorial to Peace and Justice, also known as the National Lynching Memorial.
