The Sacred track that binds us

This episode explores the need for connection and continuity between generations as understood through an Indigenous lens. In it, I read a passage from the book by Rupert Ross titled, Dancing with a Ghost: Exploring Indian Reality (Reed Books of Canada, 1992). Some Rupert Ross quotes: The more we cover new ground, the more we feel unconnected to either a familiar past or future, then the more we may also feel a pressing need to leave our mark by building or exploring something new. By going further, faster or higher than anyone has gone before, we may merely be wishing to find some way to erect a sign that says "I was here." But if, by contrast, we did not think that we travelled a new road alone but an old road worn smooth by our ancestors, would we not be less concerned with such testaments to our presence?
