"The Eight Mountains" had its world premiere at last year's Cannes Film Festival, where it received positive reviews for its stunning photography of the mountain landscapes where a majority of the film takes place, the performances from Luca Marinelli and Alessandro Borghi, and the direction and writing from filmmaking duo Felix van Groeningen & Charlotte Vandermeersch.
