"Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" is one of the year's very best films. A lot of that has to do with the source material by August Wilson and the performances from Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman. But a lot of what makes the film work are the crafts behind-the-scenes. Director George C. Wolfe was kind enough to spend some time speaking with Daniel Howat about what it took to bring the play to life on the screen.
