About the AuthorsMichael Schwartz is Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus in Sociology at Stonybrook University in New York. The focus of his work has been economic, Marxist, and political sociology. Kevin A. Young is Associate Professor of History at UMass-Amhearst. His research analyzes social movements, coalitional politics, and political power in the Andes, Central America, and the United States.
