A Bittersweet Update on LinkedIn Collaborative Articles

Networking and Marketing Made Simple - A podcast by Scott Aaron

With a heavy heart, I share some news about changes to LinkedIn's collaborative articles. Since their launch, these articles have brought our community together, allowing us to share insights and learn from one another. However, in response to feedback, LinkedIn is making significant changes that will affect how we engage with these valuable resources. 🔹 The Gold Community Top Voice Badge is Being Retired: Starting October 8, 2024, LinkedIn will discontinue automatically awarding the gold Community Top Voice badge for contributions to collaborative articles. This decision, aimed at maintaining high-quality standards, means we will no longer see these badges awarded automatically. 🔹 What This Means for You: If you currently hold a gold badge, it will expire within 60 days of when it was awarded. Those who earn a badge on or after October 8 will have it until December 7, 2024. 🔹 Top Voice Program Remains: While the Top Voice (blue badge) program will continue, it’s now invitation-only and managed by LinkedIn’s editorial team. It’s a reminder that recognition may not come as easily, but it remains an aspiration for many. This change marks the end of an era for collaborative articles, and it’s hard not to feel a sense of loss. They’ve fostered such incredible discussions and connections within our community. 📹 In this podcast episode, I reflect on these changes and share ways we can still contribute meaningfully to collaborative articles moving forward. I hope you’ll join me in navigating this transition together. Let’s cherish the memories of what we’ve built together and continue to support one another through this change.
