Episode 33: Dave Barber of the Winnipeg Cinematheque - Rebroadcast Tribute

On July 26, 2021 Dave Barber,the programmer for the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque since its inception in 1982, passed away at the age of 67.He was a champion of all cinema but his love of Winnipeg and its filmmakers help earned us a reputation as being a serious film city just as much as Toronto or Vancouver.Mondo Hollywood was lucky to have had him as a guest on January 29, 2017 to program an hour of music entirely from his own collection including some vinyl soundtracks he had owned since childhood. Set list of his selections including music from the films of Chinatown, Our Man Flint, Guy Maddin's Twilight of the Ice Nymphs and more available at www.mondohollywood.ca
