S1 Ep9: Ebony Rainford-Brent - "Laser focus your priorities"

This week on Monday Mile, I head to South London, on the bank of the River Thames, to meet Ebony Rainford-Brent, the first ever black female to play Cricket for England. She has hurdled adversity in sport through race and injury and is now paving the way in Sports Broadcast for both BBC and Sky. An entrepreneur in her approach to business (Inspira Tea), this same energy she has taken into her new charity, the Ace Programme.  This Programme focuses on talent identifying the next generation, making the sport accessible to all, as well as focusing on the visibility of the game.  Ebony also sits on the board as a Director of the Surrey Women’s Cricket Club. What I enjoyed about this Monday Mile is the energy, as well as learning more about the game of Cricket. When I see Ebony she just makes me smile, she is full of ideas, and never takes no for an answer. She is all about doing things her way, and inspiring the next generation. We get into resilience, sport, and the foundations it has set for confidence and being your own energy, and trust me she has a positive abundance of that. Plus she introduces me to the Bucket List.... time to laser focus on that. Former Team GB double winter Olympian Aimee Fuller is on a mission to find the secrets for Monday motivation from some of the most successful sports men and women of our time and other well-known celebrities which will drop every week.  Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on?’  Each episode will drop on a Monday morning and plays out in real time. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week.  Dropping every Monday as a bitesize 20/25 minute piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it - sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes’ secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits.
