PREMIERE: OdD - I'm Complete [LTR003]

Anyone who’s encountered the OdD boys so far will know all too well that theirs is a rough, ready and rugged sound, the likes of which is as likely to mesmerise thanks to its dancefloor dynamics as it is its sonic intricacies. Fresh out of the OdD archives Tapes of Old 3 is enveloped an air of antiquity. Cut straight from the tape reel, their first for 2018 sees OdD deliver an EP that’s never lacking in suspense or thrilling moments. Released via the London duo’s Tapes of Old imprint, it sees them perk up with three stunning originals, each one with their own inimitable and unique charm. Lastly, the sounds of ‘I’m Complete’ close off the package. A dense track that’s made up of but a few parts, this is trippy minimal of the sort that makes OdD’s association with Fuse an obvious ones and enhances their reputation as fine purveyors as funky, groove-led and always charming house and techno tones. Charged with reams of static percussion and low frequency oscillation, OdD’s latest captures a galactic essence where waves of bass meet synth in a beckoning symphony of creation. A triumphant return to work from a duo who continue to impress.
