The film is based off of Brett Haley’s book, Sorta Like a Rock Star, and also stars Auli’I Cravalho, Carol Burnett, Fred Armisen and Rhenzy Feliz. Gerald is known for his role in TBS’s “Angie Tribeca” and has modeled for campaigns with Target and Zappos, and walked in New York Fashion Week. In 2015, Gerald had an accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down, which confined him to a wheelchair. His doctors said it was likely he would never regain movement, however, within the last year, he has regained most movement in his upper body, and continues to progress.
