It’s No Time To Die... from the Coronavirus. Although this is our George Lazenby episode, we must begin with why the studio moved the next Bond movie from April to a Thanksgiving release. Also, we kind of slam On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. What Now? - Top of Show Addressing No Time To Die’s Being Moved To a November Release Date, The Impact of Corona Virus on The Film Industry At Large, and What It All Means for MMO’s James Bond Character Study Series GEORGE LAZENBY’S JAMES BOND CHARACTER STUDY: NONSPOILER SECTION Getting Into Character - 10:20 (Lazenby’s Early Career + Stalking His Way Into Thee Role of 007) Lazenby’s Bond Filmography - 16:14 (How Lazenby’s Lone Bond Performance Stacks Up Against The Legend of Connery Before Him) His Performance As Bond Overall - 18:19 SPOILER WARNING - 24:44 SPOILER-FILLED SECTION The Spy Who’s Not Me - 25:43 (Why We Want To, But Never Could Be, This James Bond) Live and Let Dad Joke - 29:34 (This Bond’s Best [Worst?] One Liners) Dr. Please God No - 32:42 (Problematic Interactions w/ Women Through 2020 Eyes) Always Say Never Again - 39:33 (Moral Issues Through 2020 Eyes) Q Only Lives Once - 49:11 (The Cars, Gadgets, and Tech of Lazenby Bond) They’re Why Tomorrow Never Dies - 52:47 (The Struggles of These Bond Baddies) Goldfingers - 56:50 (We Fix The Bond Baddies) License To Bill - 1:02:34 (Totaling Up Bond’s Civic Damage) Your Homework/PLEASE LEAVE US 5*’S - 1:07:25 What’s Next From MMO/Words of Wisdom - 1:08:50 So yes, we are putting a pause on The James Bond Character Study after this episode on George Lazenby. We do 10 minutes on how the Coronavirus forced MGM, UA, & Universal to move the release date & what it might mean for upcoming spring blockbusters. But James Bond will return as will we with this character study. Though as you’d probably agree, we’ll all have more fun with the study this coming fall before the release of No Time To Die. Until then, we go out with a bang. George Lazenby only sucked down shaken martinis in one film from the series, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and we review the ever living daylights out of it. Though if you love every Bond film more than the last, welp, we’re harsh on this one. As we always say, hopefully you join us for all our shows because you enjoy them as shows. Perhaps we’ll agree with you at times, but let’s be honest. There’s no way we’ll always agree. So we want to hear from you on this one, and we welcome any feedback. In any event, we’ve always felt that honesty is the best policy, and we have to call them as we see them. On that note, we absolutely obliterate this film, and the hope is that you’ll have a fun listen regardless. You do get a non-spoiler section first with a Getting Into Character segment followed by a review of his performance. Then we dive into the plot of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service & fill this section with all kinds of segments that highlight the best & worst scenes, all the cinematic & moral arguments, & all the bad Bond title puns you can handle.
