WE’RE ALL GONNA BE RICH!!! - We use Vegas betting odds from the last few film years to make our predictions for this year’s Golden Globes. Plus, something new this year, we lead off with a half hour on the TV awards. What is This Episode?/Grab Your 💰 - Top of Show . 2021 GOLDEN GLOBES GAMBLING PREVIEW/PREDICTIONS: . Or will we be wearing nothing but barrels around our butts like old timey cartoon losers? Knowing us, there is no middle ground as the Golden Globes are this Sunday Night and that means, it’s time to gamble. Now we did something new this year in a wild fit of hubris. We began this annual special with a half hour on the TV awards. Will Schitt’s Creek sweep another show or did it peak at the Emmys? How much does the HFPA love The Crown or will there be an all time crazy upset? And how do we compare Small Axe & Unorthodox to The Queen’s Gambit? Probably not the smartest thing to begin this (supposedly) learned and well researched gambling special with some crazily uninformed and irresponsible TV bets. But, well, we liked a lot of TV this year and wanted to have fun with these. We did. Otherwise, and as usual, you get all our admirable research and contemptible ranting on the film side. We begin with some recent gambling history on the betting odds from the past two years of winners. There’s all kinds of research on the last few decades of Golden Globes history to bend to our whims & theories, and of course, we analyze this year’s betting odds for each nominee. Where can you find value? Where can you make some money? Just… trust us. No, please have some fun, but gamble responsibly. We thoroughly enjoyed this massive 100+ minute episode and annual special on the Globes. Although we reference it up top and joke about it throughout, this is not necessarily a commentary on the recent LA Times article and latest scandal on the HFPA. Go back to our last 4 years of pods to hear us being angry at the HFPA. This episode is all about having way too much fun making some awards season predictions, and we thank you for joining us. If you enjoyed this one, please leave us a positive rating or review, and do check out our massive back catalog of episodes. We’ve done series on everything from the MCU to Michael Myers, from James Bond to Citizen Kane, and from Tarantino to Pixar. There are Oscars Profile movie review episodes on all the annual contenders, and we cover all the latest buzz, noms, and wins on this weekly awards season news show called Oscar Race Checkpoint. Be on the lookout for our website to be launching soon, and we thank you for joining us. As always, we want to hear your picks, hunches, & hankerings. So do reach out to us on social media.
