So we figured we’d stay on topic and review the film that made national news in the lead up to our collective trip to the polls, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm AKA Borat 2. We differ on the quality of the script, but agree on a terrific performance. There’s also a discussion on the costumes, make-up & hair, which may have had a larger role than we initially thought. So our non-spoiler review builds to that Oscar Lens round up of all its awards season possibilities before you get the musical interlude to cue spoilers. And it’s in our spoiler section that we have to break down THAT scene, ya know, the one that everybody has been reporting about in the national news. Then we try and understand the structural formula of the script and each set-up, and why that heightened the degree of difficulty for the actors and all 9 of the writers before analyzing the ending, and the possible intentions behind it. Borat 2 is not the OSP we expected, but the OSP we needed right now. As always, we want to hear your thoughts on this film.
