Darkness is an intimacy with God

This neurosis, this darkness, is actually God experiencing it. That's a fierce big idea from the medieval ages. But it's consoling to think that if you have anxiety, or are alone, you are also loved. Deeply in the room of the heart. And as your faith matures you put away the childish notions of religion and the god of intervention and you realise that the intervention is the cosmos and there is nothing but god. God is not in the universe. Dawkins is correct. But the universe is in God.So that felt consoling to me. And that's the only reason I share it. It's my story of the journey from darkness to light. And it's summed up in two beautiful things. The Crucifixion is one, but that's a bit too much crusted in Victorian nostalgia at this stage. Th e other moment is the Transfiguration. The omega point, the cosmic Christ entering into time.I'm looking forward to the Transfiguration Feast, coming in early august. For now, for this moment in July I'm thrilled to share this part of my story; that my atoms and your atoms are the atoms of Christ, cosmically. Hope you enjoy these ramblings from the heart.
