5 years ago the Red Sox pulled off possibly the worst trade of the 21st Century. The wealthy franchise essentially dumped Mookie Betts to the Dodgers for garbage and one of the key figures of the deal just signed a minor league contract. Beyond the fact that the trade has been a catastrophe for Boston, it remains one of stupidest moves because it was unnecessary and done for reasons other than improving the team.
