Liberating Sustainability - Gender

Liberating Sustainability is an intersectional take on the climate emergency. In each episode, field-leaders from student liberation movements and academia deconstruct the exclusivity of sustainability activism and education. Are young women sustainability activists subjugated in the mainstream media? Has privatising neoliberal socioeconomic and gender structures limited collective action? And what is the relationship between climate disaster and domestic food insecurity? Tackling these topics are Dr. Constance Russell, who specialises in critical environmental education and gender at Lakehead University, and Serena Jemmett, Amnesty UK's children's ambassador.
