NOPE vs 1972

This week, Carsten & Stephen take a look at Jordan Peele's new genre-busting spectacular NOPE, which has a whole lot to say about popular entertainment, showbiz exploitation and racism, and the hidden history of Hollywood that needs to be acknowledged, all within the framework of an alien attack movie. Through NOPE we open a window into the summer of 1972, and some of the films that were playing in local theatres 50 years ago, including Buck & the Preacher, Skyjacked, What's Up Doc, Fiddler on the Roof, Pocket Money and The Possession of Joel Delaney. It was a summer before blockbusters, when it seemed like there were no rules about what could make it to the silver screen. Follow us on twitter: @Lensmeyourears and like us on Facebook!
