All three of the aforementioned movies are also targeting nominations for Best VFX, Best Director, Best Costume Design, Best Adapted Screenplay and many others. The Academy has yet to officially announce the nominees for 2023's ceremony but the final list of contenders will be unveiled in the coming months.   Fans Are Roasting Marvel for Thor: Love and Thunder's Oscar Campaign https://www.cbr.com/fans-roast-marvel-thor-love-and-thunder-oscar/ Fans cannot believe that Marvel Studios submitted Thor: Love and Thunder to be considered for Best Picture at the Oscars.   According to the official "For Your Consideration" site, Disney is campaigning for all three 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to be nominated for Best Picture. Fans were especially shocked to see Thor: Love and Thunder on the site, which many believe to be a weaker MCU film and a significant step down from its predecessor, 2017's Thor: Ragnarok. Disney submitted Love and Thunder for several other major awards as well, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best VFX. Angela Bassett Lands One of Black Panther 2's Two Golden Globe Noms https://www.cbr.com/angela-bassett-lands-black-panther-2-golden-globe-noms/ Angela Bassett has earned her second career Golden Globes nomination for her performance in the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.   The nominations for the 80th Golden Globe Awards were announced on Dec. 12 by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with Bassett receiving a Best Supporting Actress Performance in a Motion Picture nomination for her reprisal of Ramonda, the Sovereign Queen Mother of Wakanda, in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She will be competing against Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness) and Carey Mulligan (She Said) in the category. Bassett previously won the Golden Globes award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her performance in 1993's What's Love Got to Do with It.   James Gunn’s Thor/GotG Timeline Explanation Baffles MCU Fans https://www.cbr.com/james-gunn-thor-gotg-timeline-baffles-mcu-fans/ James Gunn's explanation for where Thor: Love and Thunder fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline has left fans confused.   Detail-oriented fans have pointed out that Thor had to have spent more than "a few weeks" as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy team, which he was seen joining at the end of Avengers: Endgame and leaving early in Love and Thunder. If Jane were "blipped" during Infinity War, this would mean that following her resurrection in Endgame, the Mighty Thor had time to be diagnosed with cancer and spent six months in treatment prior to the events of Love and Thunder. Many have suggested this would have to have occurred while Thor was with the Guardians, meaning his time with the team was much longer than a few weeks.   Some enthusiasts stated that Love and Thunder appears to confirm the long-held fan belief that Jane was among those killed in the Snap by having Thor and Jane disagree about how long it had been since they last saw each other. Thor thinks it's about five years more than she does. However, others reject that as confirmation, instead seeing it as a joke about the pair's different attitudes towards their break up. Whether Jane was snapped is still hotly debated by fans, as there has been evidence on both sides. A tie-in novel for Avengers: Infinity War confirmed Jane and her friends Darcy and Dr. Selvig to all be among the survivors, while Endgame's script revealed Thor's beloved to be among the dead, alongside other characters whose confirmations never made it into the movie. These include the likes of Wong, Sharon Carter, and General Ross   MCU – NON MARVEL STUDIOS   SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE - Official Trailer (HD) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqGjhVJWtEg   DISNEY+   Marvel's Wonder Man Series May Arrive in Late 2023 https://www.cbr.com/marvel-wonder-man-disney-plus-possible-release-date/ Marvel's planned Wonder Man show may have a release window that lands it on Disney+ sometime in late 2023.   Andrew Guest, who joined the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe show as its head writer, listed on his Writer's Guild of America page that Wonder Man is scheduled to come out during the 2023-2024 season.
