Two, could Thanos's motivation to reduce the number of lives, and since we never saw what exactly wiped out his people, if that could be used as a means of introducing Galactus later. Maybe he wanted to reduce the number of life on any given planet so anytime Galactus came to eat he would never be fully sated and eventually die off.
