S2E26: On the Development of Ethical Wisdom in Our Professional Lives

It seems to me that we are born twice: first into the world as creatures of instinct and need, and second into the realm of ethical consciousness, where we must navigate the complex terrain of moral choice. This second birth is not sudden but gradual—a slow awakening that continues throughout our lives if we permit it. Nowhere is this awakening more consequential than in our professional lives, where our decisions affect not only ourselves but ripple outward to touch colleagues, organizations, communities, and at times, the wider world.
