This week in the cellar, ghost hosts, Kim & Ket, are joined by Sadie Katz and Mike Mendez. Mike is a filmmaker from LA who has been making films since the age of 8 yrs. old. Sadie is a writer and actress who you DO NOT want to sit next to while watching Scream. These two spitfires are the latest victims of The Quiz Show Killer. Will Mike and Sadie survive the cellar and escape with their lives? Or will Kim & Ket be that much closer to assembling their ghostly film crew to shoot their biopic? Sadie Katz @sadiekatz  is an award-winning actress, WGA writer, director and producer living in Los Angeles. Katz got her start co-starring in the dark romantic comedy Nipples and Palm Trees. The outrageous comedy stayed in the Amazon's top one hundred rentals for a year. Sadie went on to star in several films. The most notable, Sally Hillicker in the popular horror franchise 20th Century Fox's Wrong Turn 6. For which she received rave reviews from respected genre sites including Fangoria and Dread Central. Getting Scream Queen status she has gone on to get top billing in a dozen horror/thriller titles. More than a Scream Queen she's co-starred opposite Academy Award nominee June Squibb and Firefly's Sean Mayer. As well as working with such notable actors as Ed Asner, Steven Bauer, Danny Trejo, Richard Grieco, Tara Reid, Richard Reihl, Michael Pare, Sophie Monk, Patrick Kilpatrick, Randy Wayne and Eric Roberts. Katz also tried her hand at documentary storytelling with The Bill Murray Experience winning several awards in festivals and receiving worldwide distribution with Gravitas Ventures. Katz has an award named in her honor "Sadie Katz Hustle Award" given out to filmmakers annually at AMDOC'S Palm Springs who go above and beyond promoting their films. She also penned the screenplay "Scorned" starring Anna Lynn McCord and Billy Zane released by Anchor Bay, as well as Lionsgate thriller Clown Fear. She's received top billing in several Lionsgate released films including the latest Amityville Harvest. Recently she received Hollywood Horrorfest's Best Supporting Actress Award for the Sony released Automation. Look for her this year in festival artsy thrillers Megan, State of Desolation and Rip Tide as well as several family comedies including A Fargo Christmas and Fizzie. Mike Mendez  @madmanmendez A native to Los Angeles, Mike Mendez was in the backyard making movies since the age of 10. At the age of 23, Mike made his first feature film "Killers," which was accepted into the Sundance Film Festival. He followed that up with the horror comedy "The Convent," which was also accepted into the Sundance Film Festival in 2000. The film was released by Lionsgate in the U.S. In 2002, he produced a documentary for Universal Television and Showtime entitled "Masters of Horror," featuring interviews with some of the genre's most legendary filmmakers.  In 2006, Mike's film "The Gravedancers" premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released in theaters nationally by Lionsgate & After Dark Films as part of "8 Films To Die For”. After working on short films for X-box and working on television show's such as "Beavis & Butthead",  Mike’s next film, "Big Ass Spider!" in 2013 would go on to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival. It also won the Saturn Award that year for best limited release film. The latest batch of work includes the horror anthology, “Tales of Halloween” of which he served as a producer and one of the directors. Mike also helmed the 2015 television movie, “Lavalantula” for the Syfy channel And “Don't Kill It" starring Dolph Lundgren, which premiered at Fantastic Fest. Mike has also written for television shows such as “Stan Against Evil” on IFC and edited features such as “Nightmare Cinema” & “Critters Attack” for Warner Bros.
