Mr. Collins declares his intention to dance the first two dances with Elizabeth, who is bummed because she intended to have those dances with Mr. Wickham. She is perturbed by Wickham's story of Darcy not honoring the elder Darcy's wish to have Mr. Wickham on the property as clergy. At the ball, Collins won't leave her side and she hates it. Mary sings, badly, and Elizabeth cringes. She gives her father a "do something" look, and he tells Mary to let others have a chance to entertain. Collins, some time after, asks Mrs. Bennet & daughters if he can have a moment alone with Elizabeth. Elizabeth asks them not to go, but they do. Collins tells Elizabeth that he intends to ask for her hand and assumes she'll say "yes." She straightens him out on that.
