Mr. Collins, cousin to the Bennets, has written to Mr. Bennet offering an olive branch about the property at Longbourne passing to him rather than to Mr. Bennet and eventually to his girls. Mrs. Bennet doesn't like him. He is the clergyman at Lady Catherine's estate, and is proud of this connection. The girls ignore him when he tries to read to them at dinner. They attend a party at the Phillips's house, and Mr. Wickham is there. He tells Elizabeth that he and Darcy grew up together, and that Darcy never liked how his father was so close to Wickham. When the elder Darcy died, Mr. Wickham was to have the living on the estate, but the younger Darcy refused to acknowledge the elder's wish after he died. Elizabeth is appalled and wants to expose Darcy, but Wickham is against it.  #ElizabethBennett #PrideandPrejudice #MrDarcy #LadyCatherine --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/karla3507/message
