(Dickens (1859)Now in Paris, the story focuses on the excesses of luxury and decadence enjoyed by a powerful French lord, the Monseigneur. Those about the Monseigneur know nothing of the affairs of state, but they hold positions nonetheless. When the Marquis is not greeted pleasantly by the Monseigneur, he hurries his carriage away and kills a young child. The Marquis blames the people for not taking care of their children, while the father cries for his child. The Marquis throws a coin as if he is merely paying a troublesome fine, and then drives off again. DeFarge throws the coin back into the carriage, while the Marquis vows that he will wipe the commoners from the earth. Madame DeFarge looks on, knitting. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/karla3507/message
