KDMEO Episode 165 - The Uncanny Counter (경이로운 소문) 2-4

K-Drama My Eyes Out - A podcast by Judy, Linda and Teresa

HOW IS THIS JUSTICE? Judy and Linda demand justice from episodes 2-4 of "The Uncanny Counter" (경이로운 소문), a supernatural action comedy from OCN, starring Jo ByungGyu, Kim SeJeong, Yoon JoonSang and Yeom HyeRan. All the rules pertaining to the Counters and their work are annoyingly loosey goosey, so it's difficult to get invested when anyone breaks or adheres to them. Linda posits that there are not enough Counters to cover all of South Korea and wonders how they would cover larger countries, like Canada. Judy wonders why there aren't many K-dramas that cast cops in a positive light, compared to American shows.    Digressions:   1:08 – New Patreon donor and Listener E-mails!  5:29 - Linda finished "Start-Up" (스타트업) and appreciated that the ending didn't crash and burn 10:46 - Judy smoothly segues into Epik High's new album, "Epik High Is Here" 19:58 - Judy finally watched "The Dressmaker", starring Kate Winslet and loved its quirkiness 23:42 - Judy also binged all of "The Bonfire of Destiny" (Le Bazar de la Charite), a French period mini-series set in 1897. Watch with subtitles, not dubs! 1:17:00 - It all starts to fall apart. Drink responsibly.   Some Korean terms:   경이로운: [gyeong-ee-ro-woon] amazing; miraculous. 소문: [so-moon] rumour. 소문: [so-moon] small door. 한류: [han-lyu] "Korean wave"; increase in global popularity of South Korean culture. 경기도: [gyeong-gi-do] province around Seoul; literally "province surrounding the capital". 시골: [shi-gol] countryside.    Audio credits:   Epik High - "Rosario" (ft.
