KDMEO Episode 161 - Tale of the Nine Tailed (구미호뎐) 9-12

K-Drama My Eyes Out - A podcast by Judy, Linda and Teresa

EVIL JIAH > REGULAR DUMMY JIAH. Judy and Linda desperately need better rules in episodes 9-12 of “Tale of the Nine Tailed” (구미호뎐), a TVN supernatural romance starring Lee DongWook, Jo BoAh and Kim Bum. HOT TAKE: JiAh's parents should never have been allowed to come back. We suspect even the drama writer doesn't like the character of JiAh (Jo BoAh). Kim Bum did not have enough screentime in these episodes, which is a huge bummer. TVN is taking some extra time to fix up the final four episodes, so we'll be back in three weeks to cover the finale!   Digressions: 1:05 - Listener E-mails and requests from Twitter 2:21 - "Cool Guys, Hot Ramen" (꽃미남 라면가게) 6:02 – Canadian stereotypes 14:34 - Judy finally tried "Flower of Evil" (악의 꽃) 21:45 - JTBC variety show "Crime Scene" (크라임씬) is on Youtube! Click here for the playlist, but there are no English subtitles. 26:37 – “Batman: The Animated Series” S1E26 “Perchance to Dream”   Some Korean terms: 선녀: [seon-nyeo] Korean version of fairy or angel. 이무기: [ee-moo-gi] snakes of legend that can become a dragon by training for a thousand years; in most Korean tales, they usually fail their training or are killed by humans. 어둑시니: [eo-dook-shi-ni] creature of darkness who craves attention. 회식: [hwe-shik] after-work get-together. 제삿날: [je-sat-nal] death ceremony day.  상견레: [sang-gyeon-leh] official meeting between in-laws to plan a wedding.   Audio credits: Danny Elfman – “Batman: The Animated Series” – “Main Title” “Arrested Development” – “Her?” “Seinfeld” – “The Puffy Shirt” (S5E2) Please send any questions, comments or suggestions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@kdramamyeyesout) or e-mail us (kdramamyeyesout(at)gmail.com).
