To accompany our recent white paper, we spoke to its three authors to find out more about the key elements of the new Ipsos Emotions Framework, which was built in collaboration with academic partners and on insights gleaned from decades of research within cognitive sciences and neuroscience. This innovative framework is designed to capture emotional responses across different cultures and languages, and has three essential dimensions: Valence: which shows whether an emotional response is positive or negative. Arousal: which defines the intensity of an emotional response. Control: which reveals the degree of influence a person feels they possess in a particular situation
