There are plenty of stories out there where the short form is absolutely vital....We're still deep in the weeds over at the Toronto International Film Festival which is running until Sept. 17th.  As always we revel in the opportunity to highlight somethings just a little off the beaten path as we dive back into the shorts program with 'Motherland'.It's the story of a man whose personal life and various crises are only compounded by the realties of being Iran in the United States back in 1979 during the political tensions at that time.It's from writer/director Jasmin Mozaffari whose name you may remember from her previous feature Firecrackers and she returns here to the festival with Motherland which is just an electric piece of work that only highlights the importance of short filmmakers and their stories on the landscape.We had the pleasure of sitting down with Jasmin to discuss the origins of the film and so very much more....
