雅思口语P2 Describe a person who protects the environment(文字版）

The person that I would like to talk about is my Wang Jie. She now is over 50 years old And she has been working for the neighborhood associations for 10 more years. More importantly, has done so much to the environment in our community as well. A couple of weeks ago, she gave the opinion on the terrible condition of our streets. So she wanted us to organize a general cleaning activity. It wasn’t compulsory, but we were encouraged to take part in it. We listened to her carefully and made different groups, each composed of around 10 people, from young children to seniors. I had to wake up early in the morning, like 6am or such. We all had our work, and our area of action. We were arranged into small groups, and 3 people and I were charged to pick up empty bottles and all plastic made products. It was an impossible mission, because there were thousands of pieces on the floor. I also tried to talk to the people and explain to them why they needed to recycle the trash. It can be pretty disastrous for the nature. This experience made me understand how important it was to save our environment. I should do this more often, thanks to her.
