How to Raise Money Podcast - A podcast by Ray McLennan & Nigel T Best

Dragons Den/Shark Tank (style) exposure and how you can make that work for you. In the past the theory was it took 7 touch points before a person would buy. New research says that may be up to 33 touches!! And that it may take up to two years for 80% of people to make the decision to buy - with fewer than 15% willing to buy in the first 30 days. What does this mean for you? Get on Dragons Den?! Possibly. But as that is unlikely, you need to take control of your digital footprint. Remember that people will check you out online so what are you going to put out? Here is our guide to what might help you: 1. Create a video - a short 3 minute pitch to “whom it may concern”. This is your own Dragons Den style pitch. Why? Because this will be viewed by people checking you out!  2. What does your digital footprint say about you? Why is this important? It should reflect you in whatever light you want - professional, investible?   3. Make sure you have consistent info about you across Google  Website Blogger Twitter YouTube LinkedIn  Facebook  Apple via podcasts  Instagram Pinterest  Amazon And what about writing a book?  Talking of books...for those of you who struggle to feel comfortable going on social media, we have a book recommendation (given to Nigel by Joanne O’Connor!) The book is called 'Alter Ego'  CLICK HERE to get the book - https://amzn.to/2YTGysH  To summarise - create your own Dragons Den/Shark Tank pitch based around the following formula: 1. Short 3 minute video with subtitles  2. Say Who this is for and Who this is not for 3. Say What it is in one or two sentences 4. Explain Why this is for them 5. Briefly give the How (this will work) 6. State clearly When action should be taken 7. Go through the objections by saying 'if you are thinking "What if"' Thank you for listening and remember if you wish to be a guest then get in touch!
