How to Fight Fair

Let’s talk about holding grudges. Here are a few symptoms that can let you know if you are a grudge holder: The feeling of annoyance, irritation, or anger lingers for several minutes up to several days after an upsetting incident. You angry clean. You slam dishes around while making dinner, doing dishes, or serving meals. You reply to texts with the least amount of words and emotion as you can muster. You withhold physical and emotional connection. If any of these sound familiar to you, then you, my friend, are a grudge holder. I used to be one, too, so I know how rotten this feels. I want to lovingly let you know that holding grudges is a symptom of a larger issue: not managing your mind or having emotional regulation, aka, expecting other people to provide your happiness. In this week’s episode of the Happy, Holy Mama Podcast, I’m going to give you two tips from my own marriage to help you stop holding grudges by learning how to fight fair. These were HARD lessons for me to learn and I want to share them with you so you can learn them, hopefully, a little more gently than I did. In today’s short but sweet episode, you’ll learn what’s actually yours to control and how to step into that ownership. You’ll walk away with specific ideas on how to let other people off the hook for things they don’t actually mean (but you’re upset about anyway) and start building connection instead of contention. These two nuggets I have for you will help you have more peace in your relationships and stop holding grudges once and for all! Book a Consult Call with me here!
