Welcome to a new episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. This week, I’m chatting with wildlife cinematographer and cameraman, Bertie Gregory. When I spoke to Bertie for this interview, he was a BAFTA nominee for his work on the BBC series 'Seven Worlds, One Planet', however, as of yesterday, he is a BAFTA winner for his incredible cinematography on the nature series. At only 26, Bertie has made a name for himself as one of the youngest and most sought-after wildlife filmmakers in the business. Along with Seven Worlds, he has contributed his talent to a variety of wildlife projects, including producing/hosting for National Geographic’s online series, WildLife: Resurrection Island and WildLife: The Big Freeze, which you can find on YouTube. In the interview, Bertie discusses his route into wildlife photography at such a young age, along with his unique behind-the-camera perspective on shooting wildlife. We chat about filming Spectacled bears in South America, walking with big cats, and using his vocal talents to attract an... interesting audience! We also chat about how someone who spends so much time in the wilderness is coping with the lockdown. If you'd like to hear more behind the scenes interviews, don't forget to subscribe to where ever you get your podcasts by searching for "Geektown Radio".
