Chicago Woman found Butchered

Gangland Wire - A podcast by Gary Jenkins: Mafia Detective - Mondays

Gary tells the story of a party girl named Estelle Carey, who was found beaten, tortured, and burned in her Chicago apartment. Estelle was a B-girl and chip hustler in the Rush Street Colony Club owned by Outfit associate Nick Circella, aka Nicky Dean. He was purportedly the first person who suggested and helped the outfit start an extortion racket that ended with the arrest and conviction of many bosses. Along with Willie Bioff, Circella was getting ready to testify against Outfit men like Paul Ricca, Charlie “Cherry Nose” Gioe, Frank Nitti, Johnny Roselli, and others in Hollywood Extortion trial. Once this former paramour of Circella, Johnny Roselli, and others was found murdered, Nick Circella clammed up and refused to testify. These men will eventually be convicted in the Hollywood Extortion and serve about three years in prison. The main witness who was not scared off by the murder of Estelle Carey was Willie Bioff. he will eventually be murdered along with his wife after years in hiding.
