Mallory Merk on Building a Music Career and Reinventing Yourself

Mallory Merk is a singer, songwriter, and model. Born in Louisiana and raised in New York City, Mallory’s done just about everything. She traveled the country as an Olympic fencer in her early teens. She’s modeled in campaigns for Yeezy, Fenty, and Gucci. But at just 15-years-old, it was her cover of Drake’s Marvin’s Room that went viral and skyrocketed her music career. In 2019, she landed a record deal with Field Trip Records, a label founded by Zack Bia and James Canton in Los Angeles, where she released her hit debut songs “Ghosts” and “Strangers,” two songs that spoke candidly about her experiences with substance abuse, rehab, and loneliness. Mallory’s new music feels different yet relatable, and now at 20-years-old, she’s finally hit her stride. In this episode, Mallory and I talk about what it was like growing up in New York, from her experience as a young fencer to modeling for Rihanna. We also talk about her recent record deal and what it’s like to work with two young creatives, and their recent partnership with Warner Records. And lastly we celebrate the release of her latest release, “North American Ride,” a song she’s now re-releasing at the request of her fanbase, which is bound to be her biggest hit yet.   Listen to North American Ride here https://mallorymerk.lnk.to/north Follow Mallory on Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/mallorymerk/?hl=en   Produced by Dear Media See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
