S01 EP9 (Part 2): Pedro Chirivella

This is Part 2 of a two part episode. Series One sees us meet Liverpool FC's Academy class of 2013/14. Episode Nine is with Pedro Chirivella. Born and raised near Valencia and from a family which supported Los murciélagos, his move to Liverpool proved controversial at the time and resulted in the teenager, and his family, suffering abuse online and in person. His family gave up much to support his move to England and it has proved a savvy decision. Pedro played a total of 11 games for Liverpool but it has been his success at other clubs, on loan in the Netherlands and then a permanent move to Nantes in France, which has shown his true progress. The incredible bad luck suffered by Pedro, and his philosophical response to it, make for a roller coaster of a journey. Failed transfers saw him sit out football for a season and then an administrative issue with his registration nearly resulted in Liverpool being eliminated from the EFL Cup. Pedro is a credit to LFC, to himself and to his family and we are sure you will enjoy his story. This episode was recorded via Zoom owing to the lockdown.
