As a Directing Duo, Desperate Optimists are Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor, they are multi-faceted creatives rooted in theatre, performance art and mixed media. Hailing from Finglas in Dublin, Ireland they have lived and worked in the UK since 1987. For over ten years desperate optimists have been making works for a variety of media and contexts including film, video, digital arts, performance and radio. They have an abundance of short and Feature content which explores the boundaries of the endless endeavour to challenge an audience and subvert creative and narrative expectations.
