In this special “From the Archive” episode, Film Forum Presents a Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson and producer Laurens Grant following a screening of their film THE BLACK PANTHERS: VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION from September 2, 2015, moderated by Sabrina Gordon of the Black Documentary Collective. The documentary chronicles the rise and fall of The Black Panthers – a group and movement whose aims and struggles resonate as strongly today as they did 50 years ago. The film was produced by Firelight Media, a non-profit founded by Stanley Nelson to produce non-fiction cinema by and about communities of color. THE BLACK PANTHERS: VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION is currently available to stream for free with a new introduction by Nelson through July 4th at https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/videos/the-black-panthers-vanguard-of-the-revolution-full-film/.
