Hello and welcome to Feminist in Progress, the podcast to empower, inspire and educate. In a fast moving world, it can be a challenge to keep up with feminist news and the latest strides; but this podcast is here to be your feminist friend, kind of a big sister introducing you to lots of amazing and inspiring feminists doing amazing stuff in the world and inspiring us all do to the same. I'm your host, Molly, and every fortnight, I'll be sitting down with a guest who is a true mover and shaker in the world of feminism; someone changing the game, making a difference, disrupting an industry, someone doing good in the world and empowering others to do the same. This podcast is brought to you by Books That Matter, the UK's leading and largest book subscription box business, centred on bringing women's writing into the spotlight. It's always been our mission to provide a platform for feminist narratives, and after two years of operating, we're now an award winning and highly established female-founded business, uplifting feminist writing and female-led businesses with our subscription boxes every month. We wanted to reimagine our podcast space where we could talk beyond the books (but about books sometimes too), where we could interview people from all walks of life about their role within feminism. This is a space where we believe feminist isn't a bad word, it is one to be said loudly, with pride and intention. It is a space where it's OK to be a beginner, come on in, the water's fine! It's a space where it's ok to be learning, growing, and understanding, and just generally taking a minute to discover something new. None of us came to women's rights knowing everything, and we never will, because the landscape of intersectional feminism changes so quickly with the needs of the people it represents; so every month, we will host 2 episodes exploring the stories of women and non binary people doing their bit for the cause.
