The difference between this and an Irish jog is that the Irish usually wear special tap shoes and keep their hands at their sides. stanza - a verse in a poem Hogmanay - Scottish word for New Year's Eve Died out - phrasal verb - means something is no longer done or no longer exists. We can say 'the Dodo died out a long time ago' to talk about extinction. We can also use it like this to talk about languages or traditions.
