Hello! This is my first video episode! Let me know if you like it and would like to see more. If your podcast provider doesn't allow videos, don't panic! You can just head over to my YouTube channel and watch it there: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZuUr-gK1KmiuKirvVEEhRQ In this episode I am talking about the business phrase 'to manage your expectations'. This is a very common phrase and I think it has been growing in popularity over the last five years. I think it's very likely you will hear it at work and you may even have to use it yourself. Have a listen to find out what it means, what sort of situations you might hear it in and why I absolutely hate this phrase!  I also talked about two kinds of birds that are very common in the UK. These birds fly a very long way to and from Africa each year and can only be seen in the UK over the summer months. I love to watch them flying as their skills are very special and spectacular to watch. We have several birds from the same family in the UK including Swifts and Sand Martins. I'd love to hear how you feel about this phrase and if you've ever heard it before, let me know! Additional Vocabulary buzzword - this is a word we use to describe words that have become popular. It often describes popular new words or phrases in business but can be used to describe words that are in the popular vernacular business speak - we often put the word 'speak' after a word when we are using it to describe a buzzword or a particular kind of phrase. We might say something is 'music speak' if it is particularly used in the music industry, for example. 'being eaten alive' - idiom - this is a very common idiom used by native speakers when we are being bitten by insects, especially if there are many insects, such as mosquitos.
