And this is a great copywriting tip and that's why I wanted to share it with you because of course is the copywriting BlackBook podcast and I want to share with you all the tips and tricks that I can to help you get your get your copy tight and ready to ready to go to the masses and bring people to your product service or your client's product or service to make their life better. This is from Alex Hormozi. You may or may not have heard of him. But he's he's one of these gents that has made a bunch of money teaching other people how to create a gym business. This what his this was tweet says: “we stop teaching people how to read a grade five, and just expect them to get better on their own. One of the biggest boosts I got in marketing was when I switched to writing for their understanding, rather than to my ego.”So let's break that down for a minute. I don't know if it's true that we stop teaching people to read in fifth grade. But I can see how that's very possible. Because where I live, fifth grade is the last of elementary school. When my kids go from elementary school and middle school they're not done reading, but they're not being taught reading anymore. They're given reading assignments, they're told to write book reports, and I actually have a daughter in sixth grade. And she said, “I do way more writing in my reading class than I do any reading.” So there's way more writing involved that doesn't feel like it's a reading class. And so think about that. If the majority of people have not have not done any more building of their reading skills after fifth grade, then how would they be able to read and understand your sales letter, or sales copy whatever it might be, if you're writing on an 8th, 10th, 12th or even college level that they can't understand. And so when he says that he got his biggest boost when he switched from writing to their understanding than to boost his ego. That means he decided to start writing on a fifth grade or lower level than writing on one of these higher levels. So anyways, that's an important tip that you need to pay attention to that you need to remember when you're doing your writing is keep it down on the level of your audience which the majority of audiences even if they're a doctor or a college professor, need to be reading your copy at a fifth grade level or lower. So anyways, keep it simple. Keep it keep it low. Don't Don't be writing big words, big fancy words and trying to put complicated sentences together. It's not going to get you near as far as nearly as far as nice near as far nearly as far as if you keep it on their level. So anyway, Hey guys, thanks for tuning in listening today, make sure to head over to the copywriting lab.com Check out what I got going over there.
