Working across 5 local authorities, Eilidh utilises both G Suite for Education and Office 365 tools within her work. Eilidh is a Google Certified Trainer, and has supported hundreds of practitioners across the UK on their journeys with G Suite for Education. She is also a Google Certified Innovator, having attended the Sweden 2019 innovator academy in November with the noteworthy Steven Hope. Eilidh and Steven recently supported the Google for Education stand at BETT 2020 focusing on Accessibility. Eilidh started off her career as a primary teacher in Aberdeen in 2013. Her school piloted Chromebooks, which sparked Eilidh’s interest in digital technologies and, in particular, G Suite for Education. Through trial and error, Eilidh discovered ways in which technologies could be used to support learners at different stages. As a teacher, Eilidh attended training on Texthelp’s Read & Write toolbar, Fluency Tutor and Equatio. This opened her eyes to the world of assistive technologies and the importance of utilising technology appropriately to meet all learners’ needs. Eilidh progressed to the role of Education Support Officer for Learning Technologies in Aberdeen in 2018, further developing her knowledge of digital technologies across both primary and secondary settings. Eilidh supported schools across Aberdeen to utilise technologies before making the move to Edinburgh in 2019 to take up her current role. You can follow her on twitter @MissEMckay
