Dream Shakerz Weekly Shakedown 08-28-21

In this episode, we'll be connecting with Jelece Morris, a Wharton grad, a current associate at Kearney, and the current Founder / CEO of BoCa Flavor a sustainable and GMO-free food-centric e-commerce start-up. During the show, Jelece discussed the broad benefits of an MBA and how the strengths she built in consulting carried over well into entrepreneurship, how she met her co-founder and the importance of selecting the right teammates when starting a new venture, and how BoCa Flavor intends to pay it forward by partnering with specific non-profits that are doing much-needed work throughout the Caribbean.  We closed out the episode with The Level-Up where we've provided yet another set of opportunities for BIPOC students interested in tech careers!-UX Designer / UX Researcher Intern @ Cisco’s Mera-kiInternship Location: San Francisco, CALink: https://bit.ly/2WCJjS6Engineering Program Management Internship @ AppleProgram Locations: Cupertino, CALink: https://bit.ly/2V158KVSoftware Development Engineer Intern @ Master CardInternship Location: New York, NYLink: https://bit.ly/3mKKUQS-Dream Shakerz IGLink: https://www.instagram.com/dr3am_shakerz/Dream Shakerz YoutubeLink:https://bit.ly/3yX7toUDream Shakerz LinkedinLink:https://bit.ly/3gdBZnc

Om Podcasten

Welcome to the Dream Shakerz Podcast, our weekly show that covers technology, venture capital, and professional development from the vantage point of an ex-banker whose since switched to overseeing operations at a startup and a former management consultant whose in the midst of transitioning to graduate school to study human-computer interaction and design. As young black men, we realized that there was a void in regards to content creators who came from impoverished backgrounds but have also found success in professional spaces while staying true to who they are as people. We want to inform you, our audience, that your beginnings should not rule out certain career paths and that professional success doesn't necessarily mean you have to cut off all cultural ties. Given our success in plotting a course from public housing units in the Bronx to programs at Harvard, we believe we can effectively speak to this need.
