It’s 2022 and we are back. And back with a bang no less with the always incredible Angela Bassett. From early conversations, it was clear that we had to do an episode to this deservedly beloved legend of the screen. Angela will be known to many for her sublime portrait of Tina Turner in 1993’s What’s Love Got To Do With It where she cemented herself in the minds of cinema-goers as a formidable talent to be paid attention to. Before this, she had grabbed attention for her work in iconic films such as John Singleton’s Boyz N The Hood and Spike Lee’s Malcolm X. Bassett’s career was a thrillingly eclectic one that also allowed her to showcase her range in such other cinematic treats such as Kathryn Bigelow’s Strange Days, Black Panther and Waiting to Exhale. We got a lot of joy in spending a bit of time with all of these films. This week was Scott’s turn at the quiz before we venture into an alternative past and an exhilarating future as we offer up our fantasy picks for what we’d love to have seen and see Angela do on the big screen. For all that she has brought it is so unusual to us that we have not had even more from this searing presence in cinema. Please join us for our latest entry of Don’t Know Her to bring in a whole new exciting year of adventures with some favourites.
