Decentralized Radio - A podcast by Tristan Scott, Ryan Brown
Today's Guest Dr. Terry Wahls is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, U.S.A., where she teaches internal medicine residents in their primary care clinics. She also does clinical research and has published over 60 peer-reviewed scientific abstracts, posters, and papers. In addition to being a doctor, she is also a patient with a chronic, progressive disease. Diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in 2000, around the time she began working at the university. By 2003 she had transitioned to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. Terry underwent chemotherapy in an attempt to slow the disease and began using a tilt-recline wheelchair because of weakness in my back muscles.HOWEVER, you'd never guess this from looking at her today, after going back and studying the basic biology around "mitochondrial function," she was able to reverse most of her disease and has not FLIPPED the script for all Autoimmune Diagnoses! In todays episode we discuss:- What is mitochondria and why are they critical to health- How understanding Mitochondrial Function we can reverse progressive disease- The POWER your mind has on your physiology- FOOD and your mitochondria, is it the MOST important ASPECT?- Why are these chronic conditions seen more ACTIVELY in Norther Latitudes- Why Seasonality Matters- Vitamin D supplementation ISN'T always beneficial- Embracing Ancestral Principalsand more——————Check Out Dr. Wahls links:Website: https://terrywahls.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/terrywahlsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/drterrywahls/Dr. Wahls is currently recruiting patients for a new research study! EDQ-MS: Efficacy of Diet on Quality of Life in Multiple Sclerosis. https://terrywahls.com/msstudy/ You are invited to participate in a research study to evaluate the effects of three diets — Modified Paleolithic Elimination diet, Time Restricted Olive Oil-based Ketogenic diet, and your usual diet with information about the USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Participants in the usual diet group will be encouraged but not required to follow the Dietary Guidelines for Americans diet. Quality of life, including long term effect on motor and vision function, fatigue, mood, and disease activity will be assessed by online surveys, study participant tasks, and brain imaging. The study will be conducted at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Patients will be followed for two years. In person visits will occur at baseline (month 0), month 3, and end of study (month 24). Complete this survey to see if you are eligible. https://redcap.icts.uiowa.edu/redcap/surveys/?s=JX73EYRJNPF9MHRR——————Join Crowd Health for just $90 for the first 3 months with code "DRADIO" at: www.joincrowdhealth.comCheck out our favorite red light therapy device from EMFtek: https://www.emr-tek.com/discount/DRADIO10 (save 10% with code DRADIO10) The Best Bar On The Web: https://eataupa.com/ (Save 5% With Code DRADIO)--------------Email us at [email protected] for any feedback, guest recommendations, partnerships and anything else! You can find Tristan at:https://decentralizedhealth.ioJoin Tristan's Decentralized Health Community Join Ryan’s Newsletter: https://ryanmitchelbrown.substack.com/?r=1d5xia&utm_campaign=pub-share-checklistReach out to Ryan at:www.ryanmitchelbrown.comYou can find Tristan and Ryan on social media below:IG- @tristan_health, @ryanmitchellbrownTwitter- @bitcoinand_beef, @Seasonal_Ryan Full Video Thanks for tuning in!
