Child Sexual Abuse Material Online: Part 2, The impact, the issue, the resolution?

This (and last episode) are the most important interviews I have conducted on Cybersynapse to date.  This is one of the two most important issues I feel passionate about and I needed to interview two of the most prominent figures in this area. There is a discussion about the process of the crime and the victims so please do take appropriate care to look after yourself if this topic is one that you may find difficult or may evoke feelings of shame, disgust, sadness or anger. This interview comes with a caveat again for taking care of yourself as we do discuss the imagery of child sexual abuse and what this will mean for children and young people now and in the future. Fred describes who the Internet Watch Foundation are, what they do and why they are so important. The discussion explores the how images are classified by the organisation and what happens to that image once its identified and the process of getting it removed. We discuss the online harms white paper and why we as a population need to address issues such as this. Fred is very articulate around this discussion and posits that we are moving forward and we need to have clarification around what we all need to "do" to protect children and young people.
