In "Three Days of the Condor" released in 1975 Joe Turner played by Robert Redford finds himself in a nightmare of murder, double crosses, a secret plan for involvement in a foreign country to protect oil supplies and a cynical view of democratic processes. Director Sydney Pollack, Producer Stanley Schneider and the screenwriting team of Lorenzo Semple Jr. and David Rayfiel have created a convoluted mystery that captures aspects of the 1970's political scene. Faye Dunaway plays Kathy Hale who is forcefully recruited to help Joe Turner, Cliff Robertson as Higgins is pushed and pulled between opposing groups within the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Max von Sydow as Joubert is every bit as cunning as the Jackal in "The Day of the Jackal" (Episode 156) and John Houseman as a CIA heavy hitter who means business. Hank Garrett as the Mailman brings new meaning to mail delivery. Dave Grusin's musical score fits the film's mood. Listen in to a fast paced espionage caper.
