As thousands continue to flood Tuurangawaewae Marae and bid farewell to Kiingi Tuheitia at least 500 volunteers are working tirelessly behind the scenes from dusk till dawn. Te Tairawhiti, Rangtane and Whakatohea were among the iwi welcomed this morning, while Te Matatini, Hawaii University, Kohanga Reo and the Maori All Blacks joined the afternoon powhiri.
